This breakout session is dedicated to battery recycling. We have divided the session into three 1-hour modules where we zoom in on the three topics:
- Second use of batteries
- Extraction of raw materials from batteries
- Collection and standardization
Each module will be a mix of talks and discussions and if you think that one of the modules is less relevant, you can use this time to disassemble a battery yourself in the practical recycling session and come back to this session for the next module.
The program is:
11.00: Second life application of batteries and battery cells, Kristian O. Sylvester-Hvid and Mads Aarup
12.00: Extraction of raw materials from batteries – an overview, Kristian O. Sylvester-Hvid
12.45: Lunch
13.45: Barriers for making Li-batteries part of an cyclic economy, Kristian O. Sylvester-Hvid and Dr. Pertti Kauranen
15.00 End of session
