Operando electrochemical\nquartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (EQCM D) coupled with\nsimultaneous electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was developed for\nthis purpose to accurately measure the mechanical and electrochemical\nelectrode-electrolyte interphase properties. The new technique was applied to\nstudy the SEI formation process on carbon based anodes.
