Yet after several decades of\nresearch, fundamental understanding of the nature and formation mechanism of\nthe Solid Electrolyte Interphase (SEI) remain incomplete. While the\nanode\/electrolyte interphase has been studied intensively over the years, the\ncathode\/electrolyte interphase has received much less attention. Although ex\nsitu measurements were traditionally used to study the Interphase formation,\nthe use of real time operando techniques is today mandatory in order to provide\na new insight into these complex processes.
