Using LiPO as cathode coating in Li-ion batteries<br>Affiliation: University of Oslo<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phosphate based materials show great promise as\nelectrolytes in solid state batteries. The ideal solid state electrolyte should\nbe thin and uniform. For these reasons Atomic layer deposition (ALD) has been\nsuggested as a good synthesis route for solid state electrolytes. In this work\na new route for synthesising phosphorous based material using ALD is demonstrated.\nPhosphite precursors have been used for the synthesis of LiPO and AlPO\nmaterials. This is done by replacing phosphate precursors with phosphite\nprecursors in established ALD synthesis routes. Furthermore the LiPO product\nhas been deposited as a coating layer onto LiFePO4 cathodes to improve kinetics\nand low current density cycling performance. We have shown that there is indeed\nan improvement at coating thicknesses of 1 nm or less. The materials themselves\nhave been characterised using XPS and XRF for composition analysis, and cyclic\nvoltammetry and galvanostatic cycling for electrochemical analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nordbatt.org\/2019\/posters\/\">Full list of posters<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Author: Kristian B.
